Our
pre-school program is an enjoyable, academic program for
three, four and five year old children. Combined with
child care services, this high-quality program endeavours
to meet each child's physical, social, emotional,
intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs.
Nursery:
This
service is for three old children. The curriculum
integrates all disciplines, focusing on language
development, basic reasoning and communication skills.
Letters and number recognition are introduced, as well as
teacher-directed art activities that provide readiness
for reading and math. This full-time service is delivered
in combination with child care.
Junior
Kindergarten: This service teaches four year olds how to count and to read
phonetically. The curriculum includes videos, many
small, colourful readers, workbooks and phonic cards.
Children learn the letters of the alphabet, as well as
how to count to 100, by 1's, 5's and 10's. Other subject
areas covered include writing, poetry, music, drama, arts
and crafts, stories, cultural studies, etiquette, bible,
computers, and the sciences (including health and
hygiene).
Pre-school is delivered in your child's own home, or in a
family-like setting that accommodates an only
childs natural need for companshionship and
association with other children.
PEACE & HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION:
This
educational program is for children in kindergarten and
elementary programs. "Peace and Human
Rights Education" seeks to empower
children starting at a very early stage in their
development so that based on feelings of well-being, the
children become concerned with building a world in which all peoples have the opportunity to
fulfil their lives, and to live in harmony with each
other. The lessons taught include Etiquette,
Communication Skills, Entrepreneurship, Cultural Studies,
Anger Management and Conflict Resolution. "Peace
and Human Rights Education" is delivered in a group
setting two evenings a week for twelve weeks, and may
include some academic tutoring.
