CURRICULUM
VITAE
After
completing his assignment as Programme Officer of
the Caribbean People's Development Agency in
1992, Winfield Williams decided to establish a
consulting agency offering services in training,
research and publication. After working with
NGOs for about two years, TRESPUB
ASSOCIATES expanded into the Centre
For The Human Sciences of which
Mr. Williams is the Director.

Winfield
Williams brings a wide range of experiences and skills to
the leadership of the Centre. His work is grounded in a
firm commitment to the vital importance of knowledge to
the solution of social problems. Last year he published a
small volume titled "Reflections on the Business of
Educating in SVG". He is also working on two others
one dealing with Universal Secondary Education and
the other describing the Constitutional Review currently
being undertaken in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Below
is a brief resume of his work:
- Presently
Research Officer for the Constitutional Review
Commission of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
- Headmaster,
St. Vincent Grammar School. Secondary Boys
School with 620 students and Staff of 30
(1997-2000)
- Secondary
School Teacher of French and Spanish up to Sixth
form in SVG, Barbados, St. Lucia and Jamaica
(1967 1979)
- Curriculum
Officer, Ministry of Education, Jamaica (1979
1982)
- Lecturer
in Teacher Education at University of Technology
(formerly College of Arts Science and
Technology), Jamaica. Also Member of Council and
Academic Board. President and Vice President of
Academic Staff union. (1982 1989)
- Part-time
Lecturer, Faculty of Education, UWI, Mona (1985
-1986)
- Programme
Officer, Caribbean Peoples Development
Agency (an umbrella agency for grassroots
development organisations in the English-speaking
territories from Belize to Guyana). Developer and
a facilitator for Annual Development Workers
Course run by the agency. (1989 1992)
- Newspaper
Columnist and Radio Talk Show Host and Presenter.
- Singer/Musician
mainly on hotel circuit. Country Representative
at two Caribbean Festivals of the Arts.
- Interests:
Philosophy especially Epistemology; Semiotics in
Social Research; Teacher Knowledge and
Classroom/Curriculum Interaction.
