Chapter 1:
- In the eight month of the second year of
Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah,

7:1; Matt. 23:35; Neh. 12:4; Neh.
12:16)
- "The Lord has
"Your fathers, where
are
they? And the prophets, do they live forever? (John 8:52)
-
Yet surely My words and
My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets,
did they not overtake your fathers?" (Isaiah
44:26; Is. 55:11)
"So they returned and said:
'Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us,
According to our ways and according to our deeds,
So He has dealt with us.'"'"
- On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh
month,

return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, (Zech.

Chapter 10:
- Ask the Lord for rain in the time of
the latter rain. (Joel 2:23) The Lord will make flashing clouds;
he will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for
everyone. (Job 29:23; Prov. 16:15)
- For the idols speak delusion; (Jer.
10:8) the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; (Jer. 27:9)
they comfort in vain. (Job 13:4)
Therefore the people wend their
way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd.
- "My anger is kindled against the
shepherds, and I will punish the goatherds. (Jer. 25:34-36)
for the Lord of hosts will visit His flock, (Luke 1:68) the
house of Judah, and will make them as His royal horse in the battle.
- From him comes the cornerstone,
(Is. 28:16) from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from
him the very ruler together. (Is. 22:23)
- They they shall be like mighty men,
who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the
battle. They shall fight because the Lord is with them, (Ps. 18:42) and the riders on
horses shall be put to shame.
- "I will strengthen

- "And I will pour on the house of
David and
on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication;
then
they will look on Me whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as
one
mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn.

-
-
- "Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd,
(Is. 40:11) Against the Man
who is My Companion," (John 10:30)
Says the Lord of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be
scattered; (Matt 26:31;
Matt. 26:56; Matt. 26:67) Then I will turn My
hand against the little ones.
- And it shall come to pass in all the
land," says the Lord, "That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die,
but one-third shall be left in it: (Ezek. 5:2; Ezek.
5:4;
Ezek. 5:12; Rom. 11:5)
- I will bring the one-third through the
fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is
tested. (Is. 48:10; 1 Pet. 1:6) They
will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'This
is My people'; (Ps. 50:15;
Hos. 2:23) and each one will
say, 'The Lord is my God.'"
