Chapter 20
  1. And God spoke all these words, saying:  (Deut. 5:22;   John 1:17)
    1. "I am the Lord your God,
      who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
      out of the house of bondage.  (Ps. 50:7)
    1. "You shall have no other gods before Me.  (Jer. 25:6;   Jer. 35:15)
    1. "You shall not make for yourself any carved image,
      or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
      or that is in the earth beneath,
      or that is in the water under the earth;  (Deut. 4:15-19)
    1. you shall not bow down to them not serve them.
      For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,
      visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
      to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,  (Num. 14:18;   Nah. 1:2)
    1. but showing mercy to thousands,
      to those who love Me and keep My commandments.  (Deut. 7:9)
    1. "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,
      for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.  (Lev. 19:12;   Job 9:28;   Micah 6:11)
    1. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
    1. Six days you shall labour and do all your work,
    1. but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
      In it you shall do no work:  you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
      nor your manservant, nor your maidservant,
      nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
    1. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,
      the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
      Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.  (Ex. 31:17)
    1. "Honour your father and your mother,
      that your days may be long upon the land
      which the Lord your God is giving you.
    1. "You shall not murder.  (Matt 5:21)
    1. "You shall not commit adultery.  (Lev. 20:10;   Deut. 5:18;   Matt 5:27;   John 8:4)
    1. "You shall not steal.  (Lev. 19:11,   _19:13)
    1. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.  (Deut. 5:20)
    1. "You shall not covet your neighbour's house;
      you shall not covet your neighbour's wife,
      nor his manservant, nor his maidservant,
      nor his ox, nor his donkey,
      nor any thing that is your neighbour's."  (Deut. 5:20)
  2. Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightening flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.  (Ex. 19:16-18;   Heb. 12:18;   Rev. 1:10-12)
