- And seeing the multitudes, He went
up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to
Him.
(Mark 3:13)
- Then He opened His mouth and taught
them,
saying:
-
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Is. 57:15; Luke
6:20 - 23)
-
"Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted. (Rev. 21:4)

for they shall inherit the earth. (Ps. 25:13; Ps. 37:11)

for they shall be filled. (Prov. 21:21)

11:17; Prov. 11:25)

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (1 Pet. 3:14)
- "Blessed are you when they revile
and
persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My
sake. (Luke 6:22; 1 Pet. 4:14)
- "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad,
for
great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who
were before you. (1 Pet. 4:13&14; Acts 7:52; Heb. 10:35)

- "Do not think that I came to
destroy the
Law or
the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil.
(Rom.
10:4)
- "For assuredly, I say to you, till
heaven and
earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the
law till all is fulfilled. (Ps.
119:96; John 10:35)
- "Whoever therefore breaks one of
the least of
these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the
kingdom
of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great
in
the kingdom of heaven. (James 2:10)
- "For I say to you, that unless
your
righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. (John 7:34)
- "You have heard that it was said
to
those of old, 'You shall not murder,' and whoever murders will be in
danger of the judgement. (Ex.
20:13; Deut
5:17; 1 John 3:15)
- "But I say to you that whoever is
angry
with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement.
And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of
the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of
hell fire.
- "Therefore if you bring your gift
to the
altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
(Matt. 8:4)
- "leave your gift there before the
altar,
and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then
come and offer your gift. (Job 42:8)
- "Agree with your adversary
quickly,
while you
are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge,
the
judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
(Is.
55:6; Luke 12:58&59)
- "Assuredly, I say to you, you will
by no
means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.
- "You have heard that it was said
to
those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' (Ex. 20:14)

looks at
a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his
heart. (Prov. 6:25)

- "You have heard that it was said,
'You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' (Lev. 19:18)

enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and
pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. (Job 31:30; Luke
6:27; Acts 7:60; Rom.
12:20)
- "that you may be the sons of your
Father
in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and
sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Prov. 29:13)

you,
what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the
same? (Luke 6:32)
- "And if you greet your brethren
only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax
collectors do so?
- Therefore you shall be perfect,
just as your Father in heaven is perfect. (2 Sam. 22:31; Eph. 5:1; Col. 1:28)
