Chapter 1:
- Paul, an Apostle (not from men not
through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him
from the dead), (Acts 9:6; Acts 2:24)
- and all the brethren who are with me,
to the churches of Galatia:
- Grace to you and peace from God the
Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
- who gave Himself for our sins, that He
might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of
our God and Father, (Matt. 20:28; Eph. 5:2; Heb. 2:5)
- to whom be glory forever and
ever. Amen.
- I marvel that you are turning away so
soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different
gospel, (Gal. 1:15; Gal.
5:8)
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- And I advanced in Judaism beyond many
of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous
for the traditions of my fathers. (Mark
7:3)
- But when it pleased God, who separated
me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, (Isaiah
49:1; Is. 49:5; Gal. 1:6)

Chapter 2:

- and when James, Cephas, and John, who
seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me,
they gave me
and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the
Gentiles
and they to the circumcised. (Matt. 16:18; Acts
13:3; Rom. 12:3)

- "knowing that a man is not justified
by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have
believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ
and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh
shall be justified. (Ps. 143:2;
Rom. 1:17)

Chapter 3:
- O foolish Galatians! Who has
bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes
Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
- This only I want to learn from
you: Did
you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith? (Heb. 6:4)
- Are you so foolish? Having begun
in the
Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
- Have you suffered so many things in
vain - if indeed it was in vain? (Heb. 10:35)
- Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to
you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the
law, or by the hearing of faith? -- (Heb. 6:4)
- just as Abraham "believed God, and it
was accounted to him for righteousness." (Gen. 15:6)
- Therefore know that only those who are
of faith are sons of Abraham. (John
8:39)
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Brethren, I speak in the manner of
men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed,
no one annuls or adds to it. (Heb.
9:17)
- Now to Abraham and his Seed were the
promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but
as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. (Gen. 12:7)
-
-
- What purpose then does the law serve?
It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come
to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by
the hand of a mediator. (Deut.
5:5; Gal. 4:4)
-
-
- But the scripture has confined all
under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to
those who believe. (Rom. 3:24;
Rom. 4:11; Rom. 11:32)
-
-
-
- For you are all sons of God through
faith in
Christ Jesus. (John 1:12)
- For as many of you as were baptized
into Christ have put on Christ. (Rom. 6:3;
_10:12; _13:14)
- There is neither Jew nor Greek, there
is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you
are all one in Christ Jesus. (Eph.
2:15&16; Eph. 3:6;
Col. 3:11)
- And if you are Christ's, then you are
Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Chapter 4:
-
-
- Grace to you and peace from God the
Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
- who gave Himself for our sins, that He
might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of
our God and Father, (Matt. 20:28; Eph. 1:10; Heb. 2:5)
- to whom be glory forever and ever, Amen.
-
- Nevertheless what does the Scripture
say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the
bondwoman shall not be
heir with the son of the forewoman." (Gen. 21:10-12; John 8:35)
- So then, brethren, we are not children
of the
bondwoman but of the free.

Chapter 5:
- Stand fast therefore in the liberty by
which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a
yoke of bondage. (Acts 15:10; 2 Cor. 3:17; Phil.
4:1)
-
-
-
-
-
-
- This persuasion does not come from Him
who calls you. (Gal. 1:6)
-
-
-
-
- For you, brethren, have been called to
liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but
through love serve one another. (1 Cor. 8:9; 1 Cor. 9:19;
2 Cor. 3:17;
1 Pet. 2:16)
- For all the law is fulfilled in one
word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."
(Lev. 19:18; Matt. 7:12; Matt. 22:40)
- But if you bite and devour one
another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
- I say then: Walk in the Spirit,
and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Rom. 6:12; Rom. 8:1; Rom. 8:4)
- For the flesh lusts against the
Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one
another, so that
you do not do the things that you wish.
- But if you are led by the Spirit, you
are not
under the law.
- Now the works of the flesh are
evident, which
are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness,
(Eph.
5:3; Eph. 5:11)
- idolatry, sorcery, hatred,
contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
- envy, murders. drunkenness, revelries,
and the
like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time
past,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of
God.
(1 John 3:15)
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
(John 15:2; Rom.
15:14;
1 Cor. 13:7; Eph. 5:9)
- gentleness, self-control.
Against such
there is no law.
- And those who are Christ's have
crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Rom. 6:6)
- If we live in the Spirit, let us also
walk in the Spirit. (Rom. 8:4&5)
- Let us not become conceited, provoking
one another, envying one another. (Phil.
2:3)

Chapter 6:
- Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any
trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of
gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. (Eph. 4:2; James
5:19; 1 Cor.
13:7)
- Bear one
another's
burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. (Rom. 15:1; 1 Cor. 13:7)
(*!*)
- For if
anyone thinks himself to be
something,
when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
- But let
each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in
himself alone, and not in
another. (1 Cor. 11:28; Luke 18:11)
- For each
one shall bear his own load. (Rom. 2:6; Jer. 31:30)
- Let him
who is taught the word share in
all good things with him who teaches. (1 Cor. 9:11;
1
Cor. 9:14)
- Do not
be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. (Jer. 31:30)
- For he who
sows to his flesh will of
his flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the
Spirit reap everlasting life.
- And let us
not grow weary while doing
good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
(Ps. 106:3;
1 Cor. 15:58; Heb. 12:3;
James 5:7&8)
-
-
-
-
-
- For in Christ Jesus neither
circumcision nor
uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
(1 Cor. 7:19; Eph. 2:15)
- And as many as walk according to this
rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
(Ps. 50:23; Ps. 125:5)
- From now on let no one trouble me, for
I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
- Brethren, the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
