Isaiah 34

  1. Come near, you nations, to hear;
    and heed, you people!
    Let the earth hear and all that is in it,  (Deut. 32:1;   Ps. 49:1)
    The world and all things that come forth from it.
  2. For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, and His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter.  (Is. 13:5)
  3. Also their slain shall be thrown out; their stench shall rise from their corpses,  (Joel 2:20)  and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
  4. All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll; all the host shall fall down as the leaf falls from the vine,  (Is. 13:13;   Is. 14:12)  and as fruit falling from a fig tree.  (Hebrews 1:11;   Hebrews 12:27;   Rev. 6:12-14)
  5. And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and brambles in its fortresses; it shall be a habitation of jackals,  (Is. 13;21;   Is. 32:13)  a courtyard for ostriches.  (Ps. 44:19)
  6. He has cast the lot for them, and His hand has divided it among them with a measuring line.  They shall possess it forever; from generation to generation they shall dwell in it."
