- Now let me sing to my well-beloved
a song of
my beloved
regarding his vineyard (Matt. 21:33): My well beloved has a
vineyard
on a very fruitful hill.
- He dug it up and cleaned out its
stones, and
planted it
with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also
made
a winepress in it; so he expected it to bring forth good grapes, but it
brought forth wild grapes. (Deut. 32:6)
-
-
-
- I will lay it waste; it shall not
be pruned or dug, (2 Chr. 36:19-21; Is. 27:10) but there shall
come up
briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds (Is. 7:19-25)
that they rain no rain on it." (Heb. 6:8)
- For the vineyard of the Lord of
hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant
plant. He looks for justice, but behold, oppression; for
righteousness, but behold, weeping.
- Woe to those who join house to
house, who add
field to
field, ill there is no place (Mic. 2:2) where they may dwell alone in
the
midst of the land! (Prov.
15:27)
-
-
- Woe to those who rise early in the
morning (Prov.
23:29&30), that they may follow intoxicating drink; who
continue
until night, till wine inflames them!
- The harp and the strings, the
tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts; but they do not
regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His
hands. (Job 34:27; Ps. 28:5; Is. 26:11; Amos
6:5)
- Therefore my people have gone into
captivity, because they have no knowledge; their honourable men are
famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. (2 Kin.
24:14-16; Hos. 4:6)
-
-
-
- Then the lambs shall feed in their
pasture, and in the waste places of the fat ones strangers shall
eat. (Is. 27:10)
-
-
-
-
- Woe to men mighty at drinking
wine, woe to
men valiant
for mixing intoxicating drink,
(Prov.
23:20; Prov.
23:29
)
- Who justify the wicked for a
bribe, and take
away justice
from the righteous man!
(Prov.
17:15; Prov. 24:24)
