- He gives rain to
the earth, and
sends waters on the fields. (Job

those who are
lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety. (Ps. 113:7)
- He frustrates the
devices of the
crafty, (Neh. 4:15)
so that their hands cannot carry out
their plans.
- He catches the wise
in their own
craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon
them. (Job 18:7; 1

- They meet with
darkness in the
daytime, and grope at noontime as in the night. (Is. 59:10)
- But He saves the
needy from the sword, from the mouth of the mighty, and from their hand. (Job 36:6; Ps. 35:10)
- So the poor have
hope, and
injustice shuts her mouth. (1 Sam. 2:8; Ps. 107:42; Rom. 3:19)
- "Behold, happy is
the man whom God
corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the
Almighty. (Job

- For He bruises, but
He binds up;
He wounds, but His hands make whole. (1
Sam. 2:6&7)
- He shall deliver
you in six
troubles, yes, in seven no evil shall touch you. (Ps. 34:19; Ps. 91:3; Ps. 91:10)
- In famine He shall
redeem you from
death, (Ps.
33:19&20)
and in war from the power of the sword.
- You shall be hidden
from the
scourge of the tongue, and you shall not be afraid of destruction when
it comes. (Ps. 31:20)
- You shall laugh at
destruction and
famine, and you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
- For you shall have
a covenant with
the stones of the field, (Ps.
91:12) and the beasts of the
field shall be at peace with you. (Is. 11:9)
- You
shall know that your tent is
in peace; you shall visit your habitation and find nothing amiss.
- You shall also know
that your
descendants shall be many, (Ps.
112:2) and your offspring like the grass of
the earth. (Ps. 72:16)
- You shall come to
the grave at a
full age, as a sheaf of grain ripens in its season. (Job 42:16; Prov. 9:11; Prov. 10:27)
- Behold, this we
have searched out;
