A Psalm of David
- Do not fret because of evil doers,
nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. (Ps. 73:3; Prov. 3:31; Prov. 23:17; Prov. 24:1)
- For they shall soon be cut down
like the grass, and wither as the green herb. (Ps. 90:5&6; Ps. 92:7; Ps. 129:6)
- Trust in the Lord, and
do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. (Prov. 3:5; Prov. 2:21) (*!*)
- Delight yourself also
in the Lord (Job 27:10; Is. 58:14), and He shall
give you the desires of your heart.
- Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. (Ps. 4:5; Ps. 55:22; Prov. 16:3; Prov. 3:5)
- He shall bring forth your
righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. (Job 11:17; Job 35:14; Jer. 51:10)
- Rest in the Lord, and wait
patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. (Ps. 40:1; Ps. 73:3-12; Lam. 3:26)
- Cease from anger,
and forsake
wrath; do not fret - - it only causes harm. (Ps. 73:3; Eph. 4:26)
- For evildoers shall be
cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the
earth. (Ps. 37:34; Is. 40:31; Is. 57:13; Is. 60:21; 1 Tim. 4:8)
- For yet a little
while and the wicked shall be no more; (Heb. 10:36) indeed,
you will look diligently for his place, but it shall be no more.
- But the meek shall
inherit the earth (Matt. 5:5) and
shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
- The wicked plots
against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. (Ps. 35:16)
- The Lord laughs at him, for
He sees that his day is coming. (1 Sam. 26:10; Job 18:20; Ps. 2:4; Ps. 59:8)
- The wicked have drawn the sword and
have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who
are of upright conduct.
- Their sword shall
enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. (1 Sam. 2:4)
- A little that a righteous man has is
better than the riches of many wicked. (Prov. 15:16; Prov. 16:8)
- For the arms of the wicked
shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. (Job 38:15)
- The Lord knows the days of
the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. (Ps. 1:6)
- They shall not be
ashamed in the evil
time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. (Ps. 37:39)
- But the wicked shall
perish; and the
enemies of the Lord, like the splendour of the meadows, shall
vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.
- The wicked borrows
and does not repay,
but the righteous shows mercy and gives. (Ps. 112:5, Ps. 112:9)
- For those who are
blessed by Him shall
inherit the earth (Prov. 3:33),
but those who are cursed by Him shall be cut off. (Prov. 10:30)
- The steps of a good man are ordered by
the Lord, and He delights in his way.
- Though he fall, he
shall not be utterly
cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand. (Prov. 24:16; 2 Cor. 4:9)
- I have been young,
and now
am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants
begging bread. (Job 4:7; Prov. 10:3)
- He is ever merciful,
and lends; and his descendants are blessed. (Deut. 15:8; Prov. 20:7)
- Depart from evil, and
do good; and dwell forevermore. (Ps. 34:14; Lam. 3:26)
- For the Lord loves
justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever,
but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
- The righteous shall
inherit the land (Prov. 2:21),
and dwell in it forever.
- The mouth of the
righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. (Matt. 12:35; Prov. 10:31; Prov. 15:26)
- The law of his God is
in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
- The wicked watches
the righteous (Ps. 10:8;
Ps. 17:11) and
seeks to slay him.
- The Lord will not
leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. (2 Pet. 2:9)
- Wait on the Lord, and
keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land (Ps. 27:14; Ps. 37:9); when the wicked are cut off,
you shall see it. (Prov. 29:16)
- I have seen the wicked in great
power, and spreading himself like a native green tree.
- Yet he passed away, and behold, he
was no more; indeed I sought him, but he could not be found. (Job 20:5)
- Mark the blameless man, and
observe the upright; and the future of that man is peace. (Prov. 19:20)
- But the transgressors shall be
destroyed together; the future of the wicked shall be cutoff. (Ps. 73:17; Ps. 104:35)
- But the salvation of
the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of
trouble. (Ps. 9:9; Ps. 37:19)
- And the Lord shall
help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the
wicked, (Is. 31:5) and
save them, because they trust in Him.
