    (Acts 1:2;   Heb. 2:3)

  7. But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.  (Luke 1:57;   Luke 1:60;   Luke 1:63;   Luke 3:2)
  8. Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?"
  9. And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.   (Matt. 1:20;   John 10:36;   Heb. 1:2;   Heb 1:8)
  10. And Mary said:
      “My soul magnifies the Lord,
    1. And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.  (1 Tim. 1:1)

       For He has visited and redeemed His people,  (Ex. 3:16)
    1. And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,  (Ps. 132:17)

    1. The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:  (Gen. 12:3;   Mic. 7:20)
    1. To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,  (Ps. 119:134;   Heb. 9:14)
    1. In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.  (Eph. 1:4)
    1. And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest;
      For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
      (Matt. 3:3;   _11:9;   Is. 40:3)
    1. To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins,
    1. Through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring form on high has visited us;
