To the Chief Musician. A
Psalm of David.
- In
the Lord I put my trust; how can
you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain"? (Ps. 56:11)
- For look! The wicked bend
their bow, they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may
shoot secretly at the upright in heart. (Ps. 64:3-4)
- If the foundations are
destroyed, (Ps. 82:5;
Ps. 87:1; Ps. 119:152) what can the
righteous do?
- The Lord is in His holy temple, the
Lord's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons
of men. (Ps. 33:18;
Ps. 34:15-16; Is. 66:1; Mic. 1:2)
- The Lord tests the righteous,
(Gen. 22:1)
but the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
- Upon the wicked He will rain coals,
fire and brimstone and a burning wind; this shall be the portion of
their cup. (Ps. 75:8; Ps. 140:10)
- For the Lord is righteous, He loves
righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright. (Ps. 33:5; Ps. 45:7) (PASS
