To the chief musician.  On an instrument of Gath.  A Psalm of David.
  1. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, You who set Your glory above the heavens!  (Ps. 113:4;   Ps. 148:13)
  2. Out of the mouth of babes and infants You have ordained strength,  (1 Cor. 1:27)  because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.;   (Ps. 44:16)
  3. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained,  (Gen. 1:16;   Ps. 111:2)
  4. What is man that You are mindful of him,  (Job 7:17&18)  and the son of man that You visit him?  (Job 14:3)
  5. For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honour.
  6. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;  (Gen. 1:26-28)  You have put all things under his feet,  (1 Cor. 15:27;   Heb. 2:6-8)
  7. All sheep and oxen - - even the beasts of the field,
  8. The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.
  9. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!  (Ps. 8:1)
